The 7th National Waste Summit 2009
November 19, Croke Park Convention Centre, Dublin
Presentations
Delegate listThe National Waste Summit, which is now in its seventh year, is
Ireland’s premier waste management conference. Organised by The
Sunday Business Post, Ireland’s leading financial, political and economic
newspaper, this event is the country's most important forum for today’s
waste management professionals, environmental managers,
policy-makers and senior business professionals.
The waste management industry in Ireland is worth over €560 million a
year and is considered by a recent Forfas report to have a high growth
potential. With many vitally important decisions to be made by waste
policy-makers nationally and internationally by November, this year’s
Waste Summit promises to be a hotbed of discussion and debate.
These pending policy decisions on such things as waste tenders and
contracts, ownership of collected waste, landfill commitments,
infrastructure, export of recyclables and recycling targets, etc. will all
have far reaching implications and ramifications for the Irish waste
management industry both in the private and public sectors. When we
add to this the much anticipated International Review, the 2009 Waste
Summit will be the waste management event not to be missed.
We would like to thank our main sponsors this year – Greenstar and the
RPS Group – for their continued support of this event. We would also
like to thank A&L Goodbody, CEWEP, SLR Consulting and Fehily Timoney
& Co for their continued support.

THE ENTREPRENEURS & SMALL BUSINESS CONFERENCE
How to start, finance and sustain a small business
October 21st, 2009, The Concert Hall, RDS
There is no doubt the world’s economy has gone through an unprecedented upheaval in the last year and the Irish economy has certainly felt the knock on effects of this. Job losses, pay cuts, redundancies and cut backs have affected many of us. However, as certain as we are in an economic downturn at the moment, the economy will bounce back. It always does. This means many superb business opportunities are just around the corner. The development of new businesses is the key to the country’s efforts to develop organically and there are many government backed incentives to support this strategy.
70% of the world’s largest companies were set up during recessions
The Inaugural Sunday Business Post Entrepreneurs and Small Business Conference Out On Your Own 2009 aims to prepare new and emerging businesses with a platform for sustained growth. Hear from leading entrepreneurs and distinguished Sunday Business Post journalists such as Richard Curran, presenter of The Dragon’s Den, at this new conference on how to get your business up and running, grow it and sustain that growth in not only the current economic downturn but also how to be prepared for when the economy begins its growth cycle.
This new cutting edge event will not only be an interactive sharing of ideas but also an excellent networking opportunity to learn from others. Delegates to this conference will come away with a fresh outlook on business, a better understanding of the economy, a revitalized vision of how to succeed and most importantly, the motivation to go for it with a can-do attitude.
